Eastleigh Secure Victory Over Gateshead

In the opening game of the National League season, Eastleigh made a winning start with a hard-fought victory over Gateshead. The match was played at Silverlake Stadium and saw two goals from young talents Harry Sidwell and Josh Lundstram.

The 19-year-old Harry Sidwell, on loan from AFC Wimbledon, opened the scoring in the 13th minute. He nodded home a cross from Max Dickov, giving Eastleigh an early lead. This goal was a promising start for the team as they looked to establish themselves in the National League.

Second Half Dominance and Late Scare

Eastleigh continued their dominance into the second half when Josh Lundstram doubled their advantage six minutes after halftime. Lundstram capitalized on a driven cross, securing Eastleigh's lead with a clinical finish.

Gateshead attempted to mount a comeback in the latter stages of the match. However, despite a late goal from Ash Boatswain, it was too little too late for the visitors. Boatswain's effort brought Gateshead some hope, but it ultimately failed to change the outcome of the game.

Eastleigh's win marks a strong start to their National League campaign and will no doubt boost their confidence as they look forward to more matches in the coming weeks.
