The winning goal arrived from a Thomson corner-kick in the final minute of normal time. Warren Burrell was the player who found the net, securing all three points for Harrogate and leaving Gateshead empty-handed. The result lifted Harrogate to fifth place with ten points, while Gateshead's difficult start continued.
This defeat compounds a tough opening period for Gateshead. They currently sit 22nd in the National League standings with just three points from five games.
