New Signing
Gateshead have signed 22-year-old Irish striker David Eguaibor on a two-year contract from Scottish League One side Cove Rangers. The move was announced on 24 August 2026.
Eguaibor's Background
Eguaibor joined Cove Rangers for the 2025-26 season after a spell with Irish side Cobh Ramblers. He finished the season with 11 goals, a tally that earned him a move to the National League club.
Future Plans
In an interview with the club website, Eguaibor said: "When I went to Scotland, I learned a lot. I learned fast as well and hopefully I can bring that here, score goals and get regular game time as well. I can't wait to get started. I just want to come in, score goals and work hard." He expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Gateshead's attack and securing regular minutes.
