Gateshead academy product Connor Pani is nearing the end of his rehabilitation from a ruptured Achilles tendon. He suffered the injury in a home defeat against Boston United, just days after scoring twice and providing an assist in a 5-2 win at Morecambe.
What happened?
Pani had become a regular feature in Heed matchday squads under former manager Alun Armstrong, appearing in all but one of their first 13 league games.
Road to recovery
After undergoing surgery, Pani has been working his way back to fitness under the watch of Heed physio Fraser Bell and current management team Rob Elliot and Louis Storey.
